PU Shock Absorber 

  • The durable, high-quality PU (polyurethane) cushioning element inserted in the heel end section ensures lasting cushioning and rounded rolling comfort.

EVA Wedge

  • The lightest intermediate sole material,made of EVA (Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate) has excellent cushioning properties and is pleasantly soft.

EVA IP Wedge

  • Made from injection-moulded EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), this wedge material is ultra light, damping, durable and abrasion-resistant.

EVA Superlight Wedge

  • The EVA Superlight material is even lighter, while still offering the same effective damping properties. The damage-prone outer skin of the EVA is surrounded by a highly abrasion-resistant Kevlar fabric.

TPU Shank

  • For reinforcement, an inherently stable TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) sole is worked in throughout the sole. For better traction, less fatigue, and support for crampon fitting.

TPU Insert

  • Improved support of the arch of the foot is guaranteed by the use of an inherently stable TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) insert.

Stone Shield

  • The Stone Shield prevents unpleasant penetration of sharp stones. It is integrated across the entire ball of the foot, between the rubber outer sole and the wedge. It is made of thin-layered, hardened EVA.

 

Heel Drop 

  • the difference in mm between the lower heel level and the lower level of the forefootHeelDrop means the measured difference between the lower level of the heel and the lower level of the forefoot. Result out of this: if the drop value is bigger the wedge is higher and thus more cushioning. Lower values create more ground contact and thus better run sensitivity.

Meteorite Rubber

  • Sole technology for optimal traction in the winter terrain

This by Mammut® developed outsole technology considers the specific requirements in the wintertime: Wetness, cold weather, all different kinds of snow and ice. The winter specific rubber mixture with integrated metal particles provides for safety on snow and ice.

PD Cage

  • Three-dimensional shaped TPU midsole element
  • Distributes and cushions energy
  • Supports the inside of the arch of the foot

The newly developed PD Cage insole technology uses a 3D-TPU element to cushion and distribute the energy generated in the heel area while still ensuring the required precision - it also supports the inside of the arch of the foot.

gripex™ is a sole concept developed by Mammut which considers the specific requirements of each application area. The Mammut design and development team has drawn on over 100 years of experience to create a sole structure system that makes optimal use of adherence and abrasion criteria. gripex™ BKX is a rubber mix with very good adhesion for durable abrasion resistance. gripex™ APX Rubber mix with very good adherence for good abrasion resistance.

Exterior / Interior

 

Nubuk Leather 

Classy and robust full-grain leather with slight sanding to create the characteristic velvet appearance. Depending on the required finish, Nubuk can be waxed, brushed or left untreated.

 

Velours Leather 

Velours leather, or suede leather, is obtained by an internal split of the hide/skin. Thanks to its rough surface structure it is highly abrasion resistant and breathable. Depending on the required finish, Velours leather can be waxed or left untreated.

 

Calf Sports Leather 

Typically, extremely thick fullgrain leather with smooth finish on external grain side. This makes this kind of leather very robust. Depending on the required finish, calf sports leather can be waxed,brushed or left untreated.

 

Idro-Perwanger® Leather 3.0 / 2.4 mm 

Extremely thick full-grain leather made by the south tirolian high quality tannery Perwanger®, with rough grained finish on external flesh side. This makes this kind of leather very abrasion resistant and robust. Depending on the required finish, leather can be waxed, brushed or left untreated.

 

PU Leather 

Fine-grained leather with an exterior protected by a coat of polyurethane to make it even more abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant and waterproof.

 

Synthetic Leather 

This synthetic leather is hard to tell apart from genuine nubuck leather, except that it’s lighter and absorbs very little water.

 

Dropstop Textil 

This roughly woven Italian textile of 73% polyamide and 27% polyester is very light, extremely resistant to abrasion and rip-proof. Permanent waterproofing prevents excessive water absorption.

Kevlar Protection

The Kevlar filaments integrated evenly over the PA base fabric provide effective protection from sharp stones or branches. The fabric is also very light and fast drying.

 

Dyneema® 

The World’s Strongest fiber The polyethylene fibers are 60% cutting resistant as carbon fiber, 15 × tear resistant as steel. Highly resistancy against abraison, moisture, ultraviolet rays Used in climbing gear, fishing nets, medicine,  protective clothing.

 

Liquid Rubber Protection 

Zones featuring Liquid Rubber reinforcements safeguard the footwear against abrasion and damage. This rubber is applied when wet and is lighter than conventional rubber rands.

 

Microfiber Racing 

This synthetic leather was developed for motorcycle racing; thanks to its microfiber structure it is three times lighter than leather of the same thickness, extremely resistant to abrasion and hardly absorbs any water.

 

Soft Shell 

The Soft Shell textile worked into Mammut shoes is tailored for robust footgear, abrasion resistant and waterproof, without compromising its positive Soft Shell characteristics (excellent breathability,wind-proof, water-resistant,expandability).

 

Vent-Mesh 

Light, opencell Polyamid mesh with good abrasion results. The Vent mesh has a high breathability and a superb rip strength.

 

Air-Mesh 

This networked air-mesh weave of robust polyamide achieves maximum ventilation while retaining a stable form.

 

Hybrid-Shell 

Constructed from a blend of supple inner and tough outer materials,  which means the boot is hard only where necessary and can be designed to fit the foot for enhanced comfort.

 

Single Shell Construction 

This aim of this type of construction is to create the shaft of a shoe using a material with as few seams as possible. This provides greater robustness, thanks to the lower number of contact surfaces and reduced overall weight.

The two differently structured polyamide yarns each have different abrasion and tear resistance in one direction, resulting in a technically functional and very visually attractive fabric.

Thinsulate™ Ultra

The special Thinsulate™ synthetic insulation developed for shoes is particularly light, but still extremely warm. As this material can absorb less than 1% water it still warms up when wet. Made from 100% PES.

Elastic Gore-Tex® Tongue Construction

The stretchable Gore-Tex® tongue construction eliminates annoying creases, while the wide opening makes the shoes much easier to put on and take off.

 

Gore-Tex® Insulated Comfort Footwear (very warm) 

100% guaranteed waterproof thanks to premium quality, high-fitting, sealed insert socks made of PTFC (PolyTetraFluorCarbone). With the warmest version is processed a layer from very warm, soft and highpiled Bipolar Fleece, lying inside. Made from 80% PES / 20% WO.

 

Gore-Tex® Insulated Comfort Footwear (warm) 

100% guaranteed waterproof thanks to premium quality, high-fitting, sealed insert socks made of PTFC (PolyTetraFluorCarbone). This version is fitted with an additional warm layer. Made from 72% PA / 28% PES.

 

Gore-Tex® Performance Comfort Footwear 

100% guaranteed waterproof thanks to premium quality highfitting, sealed, insert socks made of PTFC. The Performance version offers excellent breathability with average warming ability.

 

Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort Footwear 

100% guaranteed waterproof thanks to premium quality high-fitting, sealed, insert socks made of PTFC. The Extended version offers excellent breathability with low warming ability.

Waterproof Construction

Water resistance through the microporous PU membrane all seams are taped

The WaterProof construction of Mammut® granted waterproofness, breathability and durability. As a result, the feet remain dry and pleasantly air-conditioned. All seams on the inside membrane socks are tape welded.

VENtech™

The VENtech™ technical lining fabric made from soft polyester actively improves the temperature as a result of highly efficient moisture transport and fast drying behavior. The long-lasting antibacterial treatment helps to prevent or reduce unpleasant odors. Comfort is enhanced thanks to the padded 3-D fabric, elasticity and open-pore design.

 

3-D Textile 

The three-dimensional and multi-layered synthetic micro-fibre fabric has a honeycomb-shaped basic structure which creates a cushioning and shape-supporting effect. The composition of the fibres provides high water absorption properties combined with optimum drying performance. The fabric also offers very good abrasion and pilling resistance.

 

Leather Lining 

Leather liners used by Mammut® are made of extremely soft calf nappa leather. Thanks to its ability to absorb moisture, and its natural breathability, it provides perfect climate control.As a pleasant side effect, leather has an antibacterial effect, that is, your feet and/or your shoes just smell better...

The hexagonal lugs of the FrogGrip sole developed in cooperation with vibram® ensure optimum grip on all terrains. Mammut® took its cue from nature to integrate the hexagonal surface texture found on frogs‘ feet into the new sole.

The development is based on the very successful Reptilia sole with its claws and flexible ribs. For the Iguana sole, the focus was also on lightness, speed and aggressiveness. The small Climbing Zone and the Stone Shield to provide protection from penetrating sharp stones indicate where these soles feel most at home: in rocky, alpine terrain.

Reptilia Technology

Sonar Technology

Premium quality foam cushioning which is worked into the instep, shin, and ankles of many Mammut models. The foam has excellent elasticity and returns to its original shape after being subject to intensive loads.

Base Fit®
