In the area of social responsibility and sustainability, Mammut is placing its focus clearly on its own core business. This does not necessarily exclude other voluntary social commitments, however. The main aim hereby is to pass on the company’s outdoor know-how and mountain experience. Mammut is therefore supporting mountain guide training in Kyrgyzstan and Peru in partnership with the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA).
Since 2010 Mammut is supporting the Peruvian Mountain- (AGMP) and Trekking-Guide (AGOCP) Associations through the Cooperaciòn Alpinista Suiza-Perù by providing equipment and education as well as supporting the generation of new prospects.
In March 2013 the second group of nine Kyrgyz mountain guides successfully passed the final test to become internationally recognised IFMGA mountain guides. This increases the total number of accredited mountain guides that have been supported through the Mammut Kyrgyzstan Mountain Project to 16, with another 8 guides getting prepared to complete the final test in 2014 - what a great success!
The outdoor sector also wants to give something back to the environment. It has therefore created the EOCA - the European Outdoor Conservation Association. And the association has been amazingly successful.
