Alpine Performance: Trail running shoes for the most demanding requirements

Alpine trail running places high demands on runners, and also on their equipment. New designs and materials are resulting in increasingly light products offering enhanced performance. Mammut’s Alpine Performance shoes are designed to meet the highest demands and stand out thanks to their low weight, effective protection, sophisticated technology and coordinated design.

All Mammut Alpine Performance footwear is produced using proven and patented technologies and materials to create state-of-the-art products. The main criteria are genuine functionality for mountain applications, a light weight, robustness, support and protection. Resulting in more safety and greater fun when running.

The Alpine Performance line consists of three series of models, named after the trails in the Swiss IronTrail - MTR 201, MTR 141 and MTR 71. The supreme top model is the MTR 201, available in an abrasion-resistant 3D polyamide fabric version or as a dyneema competition shoe. Dyneema, used in climbing products, is around 60% stronger than carbon fiber and at least 15 times stronger than steel. Its high resistance to abrasion, moisture and UV rays makes it an ideal base material for a trail running shoe.

For runners who swear by the virtues of Gore-Tex, there is the MTR 141, which is also available as a GTX version as well as the regular mesh Single Shell. Both series feature the extremely comfortable foot mapping technology and VENtech inner, stabilizing 360° Heel Support and the patented Base Fit lacing system to ensure safety and grip without pressure points. For the soles, once again Mammut has used the Rolling Concept to provide optimal support and cushioning at specific areas of the feet, to optimize the foot’s natural rolling movement and consequently reduce fatigue. The sole tread is inspired by the concentric pattern created by sonar waves and meets alpine requirements in relation to maximum braking and impetus force combined with ideal edge stability.

The MTR 71 entry model is perfect for leisure wear, but feels most at home out on the trails. Equipped with BaseFit, Rolling Concept and a durable Single Shell construction, it has nothing to fear from comparison with its big brothers. The soles feature the proven Iguana technology with a wider spaced lug arrangement for effective self-cleaning and fast, light and aggressive performance.

All the footwear from the Alpine Performance series is available as both men’s and women’s versions.
