Mammut's MTI™ fillings, an in-house development, have made it the market and technological leader in Europe. Our fillings are distinguished by their top-class performance, robustness and durability. In an unused condition, traditional high-end and microfibre sleeping bags claim to offer a comparable weight/insulation performance to Mammut sleeping bags. However, regular use and repeated washing reduces the insulation properties of competing sleeping bags far more than those with MTI™ fillings.

The mechanical stress of one wash cycle is comparable with that of a usage period of 20 nights. The following wash test conducted by a leading Swiss testing laboratory clearly shows that MTI™ fillings are significantly more durable than competing fillings. 

After just one 40°C wash cycle, the market-leading insulating material loses more than 16% of its performance and, after 5 wash cycles, exhibits inferior properties compared with the MTI™ fillings.
