Safety instructions

Read the following safety instructions for the slackline carefully and comply with them at all times. This specially designed slacklining product does not release you from your own personal risk.

Warning

These safety instructions are intended to help you to use the product correctly. Since it is not possible to list all incorrect usages and possible errors, these instructions can never replace your own knowledge, training, experience and personal responsibility.

Safety instructions

The slackline is a dangerous piece of equipment and must be tensioned and used with the greatest of care. Please follow the safety instructions below at all times.

  • Very great strain can be placed on the anchoring points when the slackline set is tensioned. We therefore recommend that you use only healthy and stable trees with a minimum trunk diameter of 20 cm for anchoring.
  • Never use sharp-edged anchoring points to attach the slackline, since the tree sling webbing could easily tear.
  • To protect the tree sling webbing and the bark of the tree, place a scrap of carpet, a cut open bicycle inner tube or similar padding between the tree sling and the bark.
  • Only original tensioning elements should be used to tension the slackline set, to avoid over-tensioning the system. No other tensioning devices are permitted.
  • Never use a vehicle to tension the slackline set, this operation must only be carried out by hand.
  • To minimise the risk of injury, do not erect the slackline any higher than 1 metre above a solid surface. Watch out for any roots or stones, place your equipment out of range and stand back if watching. Do not assemble the slackline set above water.
  • Children should only use the slackline set under the supervision of an adult.
  • No more than two people can balance on the slackline at any one time.
  • The slackline set and its components are designed to bear a maximum weight of 800 kg. The wedge indicates any overload. If it becomes deformed, this means that the system has been over-tensioned.
  • All the components of the set have been developed and are permitted for use exclusively with the slackline. They may not be used for any other purpose (e.g. for climbing or other sports).
  • Be extremely careful when operating the ratchet. Do not place your fingers in the ratchet's turning or levering mechanisms.
  • It is up to the user to decide how tightly the slackline should be tensioned. However, slacklines generally have an average tension of around 200 - 500 kg. You simply need to make sure that the middle of the slackline does not touch the ground when you balance on it.
  • For beginners, we recommend tensioning the slackline more tightly.

How safe is the slackline set?

The components of the set are designed to work optimally together. Metal parts are over-dimensioned and will not break during normal use. The set is designed to ensure that the webbing is the weakest point of the set, to ensure that in the unlikely event of a tear (impossible if used according to the instructions) no metal components fly through the air. However, absolute safety can only be guaranteed if the set is used correctly.
