    Highlights Winter 2009/10

  • Mammut launches Alpine Underwear

Mammut is breaking new ground with its underwear for mountaineers – a world first. It took specialists three years to develop a range of exceptionally comfortable Alpine Underwear which is tailored to alpine conditions – after all, mountaineers have high standards when it comes their choice of gear. The layer of clothing closest to the skin has the job of wicking, regulating, warming, cooling and drying. Mammut achieves this by skillfully combining natural and synthetic fibers through Advanced Bodymapping technology – the deployment of Merino wool and microfabrics where they most benefit the body.

  • Mammut Diamond Jacket: The Freerider’s Best Friend

The Diamond Jacket incorporates a new type of highly sophisticated design which makes it perfect for deep-snow skiing. Inside, Comfort Mapping technology uses three different fabrics matched to the body’s various physiological zones – without any telltale stitching on the outside. This Gore-Tex soft shell jacket leads Mammut’s new Snow collection with its wealth of technological and functional features.

  • Pulse Barryvox: A Profile for Every User

Searching for buried avalanche subjects is even faster and easier with the revised Pulse Barryvox. It now has two profiles which provide users with optimum control and flexibility. Less experienced users will find the simpler Basic profile ideal, while the Advanced profile enables experienced users to customize personal settings and benefit from proven functions.

  • Lightweight and Hungry for Snow: the Alugator Avalanche Shovel

Although we all look forward to a winter with plenty of snow, we must not lose sight of the risks of off-piste. Mammut to the rescue – with an all-encompassing range of avalanche rescue equipment offering optimum safety on the mountain. Here, the spotlight is on the new aluminum Alugator avalanche shovel.

  • Winter All-rounder: Mammut Blackfin TL

Bitterly cold outside, fleecy warmth inside. Mammut’s Blackfin TL is great for winter walks, snowshoe trekking and tobogganing. Its ultra-effective insulation keeps the cold and wet at bay, its winter-specific Vibram sole provides superb grip, and it benefits from a super-fast lacing system.

  • Touch Rock Glove: Good Grip, Warm Hands on Ice and Rock

The Touch Rock Glove sees Mammut introducing two new glove technologies heralding as-yet unmatched levels of tactility. Mammut’s Lace-Fit lacing system ensures a close fit, which makes this waterproof glove based on Gore-Tex® X-Trafit™ technology hugely tactile. This means the Touch Rock is ideal for determined ice and rock climbers who have to rely entirely on their sense of touch.

  • Expert Climb: The Sensitive Double Glove

When choosing their gloves, high-altitude mountaineers and ski tourers have until now had to strike a compromise between warmth and tactility. Now with the Expert Climb glove, those days are over. Mammut has developed a lacing system that combines insulation and weather protection with especially high sensitivity in one double glove.

  • Mammut Headlamps Show Their Colors

Mammut’s headlamps are available in new designs. Originally launched in classic Mammut red and black, they now come in a range of colors.

  • The Gym Has Its Own Rules

Climbing is booming, gyms are springing up everywhere, and traditional mountaineers aren’t the only ones training indoors in winter. The demands a climbing gym makes of its gear are substantially different from those of a sport climber, which is why Mammut has created the Gym System – a collection of products that’s tailored to the needs of gym climbing and has already won the ispo outdoor award.
