About Art Mooney
For 30 years Art's passion has been rock climbing, ice climbing and skiing. His experience began in 1976 with rock climbing and skiing in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Shortly after his quest for bigger mountains led him to Taos New Mexico where he worked ski patrol for many seasons. Each spring he traveled back to NH to spend the summers honing rock climbing skills on Cathedral Ledge and Cannon Cliff. After Taos he heli ski guided for two seasons in the Chugach Mountains of Alaska. In 1994 he settled in NH to work as a rock and ice climbing guide. At this time he began training for AMGA guide certification. In 2001 he achieved full certification with the American Mountain Guides and International Federation of Mountain Guides. Presently he owns and operates a year round guide service, Mooney Mountain Guides LLC. He continues to climb and guide full time throughout New Hampshire. He runs custom trips ice climbing in Canada, on Aconcagua and Bolivia, rock climbing in Mexico, and ski touring on the Haute Route in the Alps. In addition to his guide service he works as an instructor, rock coordinator, and technical committee member with the AMGA. Art enjoys guiding and climbing very much. He looks forward to meeting and climbing with people to share his energy and passion with them.
