Non-disintegration and the breaking force of webbing and stitched slings must be tested according to the standards EN 565 or EN 566.
Non-disintegration is tested by cutting through a warp yarn and a weft yarn on a test sample measuring at least 1 m in length. The fabric should not disintegrate. A tensile testing machine is used to determine the breaking force of webbing. A test sample measuring at least 20 cm in length is clamped in two fixing devices and pulled apart at a defined speed until it breaks. The minimum breaking force for webbing is around 5 kN, while stitched slings must have a minimum breaking load of 22 kN. All Mammut slings and webbings far exceed these standard requirements.
